Filed under: Reality-Free , TV News It’s been announced that Julian Fellowes, the Oscar-winning writer behind PBS hit ‘Downton Abbey’ and ‘Gosford Park’ is to put his spin on the ‘Titanic’ story. Filming on the international co-production starts in Hungary this spring, and its broadcast will be timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of ‘The Titanic’ in April 1912. In a statement , Maria Kyriacou, Managing Director at ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said the four-part mini-series will provide “a vividly different experience of the ship’s last hours alongside a definitive snapshot of what was a unique and uncertain moment in history.”

Filed under: TV News In a move that should shock exactly zero TV viewers, ABC has renewed its reality hits ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette’ for one more round of rose ceremonies each. Entertainment Weekly reports that season 16 of ‘The Bachelor’ will debut in early 2012, while season 7 of ‘The Bachelorette’ will premiere in May. As previously reported , a second season of ‘Bachelor Pad’ will air in the summer.

Filed under: American Idol Remember way back when Season 9′s Alex Lambert claimed, via Twitter, to be living on the streets ? Then a rep from 19 Entertainment, which has a development deal with Lambert, claimed the contrary, citing a retainer from which Lambert recieves monthly checks. Well, Lambert, who’s been tweeting away over the past month, had this to tweet about 19 Entertainment’s reponse: “19 entertainment put me on a retainer> > ?” Then, in a response to a tweet from fellow season 9-er Andrew Garcia asking what a retainer is (umm), Lambert followed up: ” $$$ dude! These guys have been telling the media they been payin me! Makin me look like im lyin! It’s a shame dude!”
