To help drive this point home, we had contestants diving off of cliffs, scaling mountains, riverboarding and bungee jumping. Filed under: American Idol , TV News After a report from MJ’s Big Blog got the ‘Idol-verse’ tweeting about this week’s Top 13 performances being pre-taped, Nigel Lythgoe took to Twitter , himself, to address the “morons.” “There is a load of crap being discussed all the contestants sing ‘live.’ The show has always been recorded to the West Coast…We are pre-taping for 2 weeks as we have a new Director & new judges. It has nothing to do with manipulation you morons.”

, Blogosphere Crystal Bowersox set the Twitter universe ablaze after sobbing at the end of her flawless acapella rendition of ‘People Get Ready.’ Aside from Bowersox’s obvious continued climb in the competition, ‘Idol’ tweeters were mixed on who deserves to go home on tonight’s results show. Even former front-runner Siobhan Magnus had her share of critics after taking on two powerful divas — Mariah and Whitney — with ‘When You Believe.’ But tonight, it’s up in the air who goes home and as the contestants get whittled down, the Twitter fans split up even more on their favorite singers. But Crystal Bowersox did break down in tears, Siobhan Magnus decided to take on two of the world’s biggest divas — Mariah and Whitney — at once and Michael Lynche used his second extra week in the competition, post-save, to sing a Nickelback song (??). Mentor Alicia Keys will perform tonight as part of ‘Idol’s’ charity event ‘Idol Gives Back,’ which raises money for a multitude of organizations.
