Filed under: American Idol , TV News Lauren Alaina gave it all she had in her ‘American Idol’ finale performance last night, but it left her unable to speak afterward. Alaina is reportedly suffering from laryngitis, and producers were so concerned about the state of her voice yesterday that recently booted contestant Haley Reinhart was brought in as a last-minute substitute in case she couldn’t perform.

Filed under: TV News ‘Glee,’ a show often criticized for its uneven writing, is adding a fourth writer. Yes, up until now, only three people — Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan — were writing ‘Glee.’ So, who is this new guy we can pin all of our hopes and dreams to? None other than comic book scribe and playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Filed under: Reality-Free , Celebrity Interviews , Finales Last night’s ‘Parks and Recreation’ season finale was a game-changer for the show. Something big happened to every major character in the last act of the last episode, setting up a Season 4 that will have a lot going on. Both in my recap and in my colleague Mo Ryan’s assessment , we bring up those changes and speculate what that might mean for the show coming out of a successful third season — one that placed the series among the best on television

Filed under: Reality-Free , Recaps ['The Big Bang Theory' - 'The Roommate Transmogrification'] ‘The Big Bang Theory ‘ ended its fourth season by indulging in a bit of bedroom scandal, relationship drama, and ‘Star Trek’-themed sex jokes. The show played it safe and sleazy, and it left us laughing with a strange and shocking cliffhanger ending. And it worked! The finale, despite its flaws and severe “WTF?”-ery, was a funny and compelling nugget of nerd fluff

Filed under: TV Replay The Battle Rounds continued this week on ‘The Voice’ (Tue., 10PM ET on NBC), with each of the four coaches presenting another duet to the audience. From each duet they chose a winner to continue in the competition, and eliminated another singer. !!SPOILER ALERT!! Cee Lo Green pitted smooth R&B singer Tje Austin against soulful crooner Nakia on Ne-Yo’s ‘Closer.’ It was a hard-fought battle and both singers sounded fantastic, but Nakia’s passionate intonation just carred more weight than the smooth tones in Austin’s voice.

Filed under: Dancing With The Stars , Recaps Forget ‘The Karate Kid.’ Ralph Macchio’s biggest role right now is the lead in ‘The Comeback Kid, Part 2,’ as he managed to once again hang on for at least another week of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ after dragging the bottom of the leaderboard for the second time. I had resigned myself to the fact that personal fave Ralph was most likely heading home because a knee injury forced him out of rehearsals and onto the dance floor sporting a limp
